Daniel Webster College
Instead of just reading about altruism and prosocial behavior in our social psychology course, we (Shilpy Taneja, Lauren Boswell, Melissa Champagne, Scott Painter, Corey Ward, Justin Thompson, Elizabeth Nadeau, Charlie Harvell, Jr., Jerry Bettua, Jason Benton, Chantal Morris, Kristy Ducharme) decided to engage in prosocial behavior. Our project was to make a difference for Marguerite's Place, a shelter for abused women and their children, in Nashua, NH.
Make a Difference Day, "the national day of doing good", is a day set aside for people in America to volunteer to help people in their community. The event occurs on October 28th and is sponsored by USA Weekend magazine and the Points of Light Foundation. Professor Susan Nicosia's social psychology students of Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH volunteered to help abused women at Marguerite's Place. Marguerite's Place is a non-profit organization that supports and helps abused women and their children. We received donations to prepare "we care bags" filled with practical and pampering items for the women and their children. You are visitor number |
